Understanding Public Health and Healthcare Inequities: Spain and USA
This course introduces the distinctions between public health and healthcare, beginning with a comparison of Spain’s national healthcare system and the U.S.'s private systems. Students will explore access to care, social determinants of health, and resource distribution using case studies from U.S. cities and Barcelona. The course concludes with an analysis of healthcare systems’ responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and its long-term impacts.
