This course explores the coexistence (Convivencia) of Christians, Muslims, and Jews in Spain during the Middle Ages and modern times, equally contemplating the achievements and failures generated by this cohabitation. The course combines religious studies, Spanish history, art history, literary criticism, sociology, and anthropology to present a clear image of the interaction between faiths and cultures in crucial periods of Spanish and European history.
