Providing targeted financial resources is one of the core components of TODOS: our award-winning, outcomes-driven commitment to removing the barriers which may prevent students – especially students with financial need and/or students who have been historically underrepresented in education abroad – from experiencing the transformative impact of a Barcelona SAE program. To this end, Barcelona SAE proudly awards almost $400,000 annually in the form of grants and scholarships.
Grants are funds that are awarded automatically to students; no additional action is needed beyond completing your online Barcelona SAE program application for a grant amount to be deducted from your invoice. Students who meet the eligibility requirements may receive multiple grants.
TODOS Scholarships require an additional brief application to be considered and, if selected, recipients complete a scholarship requirement of their choosing – such as participating in our Barcelona SAE Bucket List or a social media takeover. TODOS Scholarship applicants may apply for multiple scholarships prior to the scholarship application deadline; however, recipients will only be awarded one scholarship.
AUTOMATIC GRANTS
Affiliate Partner Grant
Over 60 (and growing) of some of the top colleges and universities in the United States are part of our Affiliate Partnership Program. If your institution is an affiliate partner, the following grant amounts will be deducted from your program invoice based on program type and duration.
Grant Amounts:
- $1000 grant per student accepted to a SIS Semester, SIS + Internship Semester or SIS + UPF Semester Program.
- $500 grant per student accepted to a UAB, UB or UPF Semester Program.
- $500 grant per student accepted to an Internship Program.
- $250 grant per student accepted to a Summer Study Program.

HBCU & MSI Grant
In addition to our Affiliate Partner Grants, Barcelona SAE also offers grants for students attending HBCUs and MSIs. If you currently attend a HBCU or MSI, the following grant amounts will be deducted based on program type and duration.
Grant Amount:
- $500 grant per student accepted to a SIS Semester Program (SIS, SIS + Internship, SIS + UPF)
- $250 grant per student accepted to all other Barcelona SAE programs.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be currently attending an institution with at least one of the following federally-recognized designations: Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Predominantly-Black Institutions (PBIs), or Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI’s).

Pell Grant Promise
We recognize the critical role that Federal Pell Grants play in widening access to higher education for thousands of students and their families each year. If you receive a Federal Pell Grant as part of your financial aid and scholarships package at your home institution, the following grant amounts will be deducted from your program invoice based on program type and duration.
Grant Amounts:
- $750 grant per student accepted to any semester program (SIS, SIS + UPF, SIS + Internship, UAB, or UB)
- $500 grant per student accepted to any summer program (SIS)
- $500 grant per student accepted to any in-person internship program
Eligibility:
- Students must provide evidence of receiving a Federal Pell Grant as part of the Financial Aid Form within their Barcelona SAE application prior to the billing cycle opening for their term.

Gilman & Gilman-McCain Grant
The Gilman Scholarship Program has made education abroad attainable for generations of students, and Barcelona SAE is pleased to further support eligible Gilman and Gilman-McCain scholarship applicants in the pursuit of their education abroad goals.
Grant Amounts:
- $500 grant per student accepted to any semester program (SIS, SIS + UPF, SIS + Internship, UAB, or UB)
- $250 grant per student accepted for any summer program (SIS)
- $250 grant per student accepted for any in-person internship program
Eligibility:
- Students must provide evidence of successfully applying for the Gilman or Gilman-McCain scholarships as part of the Financial Aid Form within their Barcelona SAE application prior to the billing cycle opening for their term.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Go Verde Scholarship
Barcelona SAE understands the urgent need for action and innovation to combat the global climate crisis. The TODOS Go Verde Scholarship recognizes students who are taking action in their campus or local communities to make meaningful change on issues of sustainability, climate change, climate resilience, y más.
In addition to awarding the designated scholarship amount to selected applicants, Barcelona SAE will also make a donation to not-for-profit organizations focused on sustainability and climate resilience in Catalonia in honor of TODOS Go Verde Scholarship recipients.

Justice, Community & Service Scholarship
The TODOS Justice, Community & Service Scholarship awards a student who has demonstrated community engagement, service, and justice. Examples of which may include: volunteering with a local food bank, assisting with a faith-based or religious organization, work with your local animal shelter, creating inclusive spaces on campus, y mucho más.

Internship Impact Scholarship
Interning in Barcelona is an incredible opportunity for personal and professional exploration and development. Barcelona SAE recognizes the added costs associated with interning abroad for credit and offers the TODOS Internship Impact Scholarship to widen access and reduce barriers for students.

- $500 for Interns with a May – June Start Date

Studying abroad is a rigorous and meaningful academic experience. Through the TODOS Excelencia Académica Scholarship, Barcelona SAE recognizes select students with demonstrated track records of exceptional academic performance.

Digital Storytelling Scholarship
Are you a burgeoning periodista (journalist) or are you eager to refine your content creation and mass communication skills while abroad? The TODOS Digital Storytelling Scholarship is a pre-professional, resume-building opportunity for students from journalism, marketing, communications, and other related fields of study to craft engaging and informative digital content about their Barcelona experiences.

Students have access to our scholarship application via our website and their online portals, and they may submit their applications at any point prior to the scholarship application deadline to be considered.
The online application requirements consist of a general informational questionnaire and a brief written statement or video, which asks students to articulate their academic, personal, and professional goals for their Barcelona SAE program and why they are a strong candidate for the scholarship(s) for which they are applying.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must have completed a Barcelona SAE application and paid the application fee prior to the application deadline in order to be eligible.
- Applicants must show proof of financial need by submitting Barcelona SAE’s Financial Aid Form, which is to be completed by a financial aid officer at your home institution
- Applicants must complete and submit their online scholarship application prior to the deadline for their term. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

If selected as a TODOS Scholar, recipients will work with our Barcelona-based staff to complete the following scholarship requirements, which are easy and enjoyable.
- 1 written blog OR 1 vlog to be posted on the Barcelona SAE blog
- 1 Instagram takeover OR 5 #BarcelonaBucketList posts
- Upload 10 photos from your experience to your Google Drive folder
- At the end of your program, complete a GoAbroad.com review OR a GoOverseas.com review
DISBURSEMENT: WHEN AND HOW WILL YOU GET YOUR FUNDS?
Scholarship applications are reviewed by Barcelona SAE team members and students are typically notified of an award decision within 2 weeks of the deadline.
- Recipients must pay the non-refundable application fee.
- Unless otherwise stated, scholarship amounts will be deducted from students’ final program invoice.
