If you were to sum up your Barcelona experience in one to two words, what would you say? My Barcelona Experience is…
Cultural Exposure and Education
Explain why you chose those words.
Barcelona is so rich with culture! Through my day-to-day experiences and my classes, it was impossible to leave without further knowledge of Spanish culture.
What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?
The 365 Café! They’re all over Barcelona and there’s one close to campus. Get a café con leche and a chocolate muffin and you’re in heaven.
What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?
Going to Tarragona for a day was awesome! It was within the first few weeks of the program so I got to know people better and soak up some fresh air!
What was your housing experience like? Did you live in an apartment with other students? A homestay with a local family? A residence hall on your Barcelona campus?
I’m so glad I stayed with a host family! I was able to ask questions about things I was confused about, have a more authentic experience, and get a better understanding of Spanish culture. Not to mention home-cooked meals! You’d be surprised at how big of a difference that can have on your day.
If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?
Anything Gaudí! The Sagrada Familia, Park Guëll, and Casa Batlló (my personal favorite) are all must-see experiences.
