My favorite thing about my internship experience was all of the new skills I was able to learn within my 8 week program.

Explain why you chose those words.

I chose these words because traveling to Barcelona and being able to immerse myself in the culture for 8 weeks was truly one of the best experiences of my life. My summer was such a whirlwind and I’m still in complete shock that I was able to have such an incredible experience.

What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?

My favorite place to eat would be any small local tapas bar and my favorite food would have to be the pan con tomate.

What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?

My favorite tour that I went on would have to be the tour of Parc Güell. I found the history and Gaudi’s masterpieces very interesting.

What was your housing experience like? Did you live in an apartment with other students? A homestay with a local family? A residence hall on your Barcelona campus?

I lived in a homestay while in Barcelona, and the family I stayed with was absolutely amazing. I would recommend living in a homestay to anyone as it is a great way to learn more about the culture.

Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?

I would recommend hiking Tibadabo. It is more off the beaten path, compared to the bunkers.

If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?

I would spend a perfect day in Barcelona at one of the less known beaches with my friends, then venturing out to one of the small local restaurants for dinner.

What was something you were surprised to learn about Barcelona or Spain? Or what aspect of the country or city were you least expecting?

I was very surprised to learn about the conflicts between Catalonia and the rest of Spain.

What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?

Go in open minded, and try new experiences. Go out of your comfort zone.

Why was Barcelona SAE the right program for you?

Barcelona SAE was the right program for me because it allowed me to intern abroad during the summer and get credit, and all for an affordable price!
