Gender Studies from an Intersectional Perspective
This course is an introduction to the theoretical concepts of Gender Studies, examining movements like feminism, racism, queer theory and masculinity while looking at a broad international scope, drawing some comparisons between movements in the EU and the US. This course will address the main concepts surrounding the intersections of gender and other social categories, with a particular interest in cross analysing gender and feminist theory and contemporary practices. It will also explore the different intersections constructing the diversity of ways of being, bearing in mind that future professionals will face this complex range of ever-changing diversities.
