Intriguing and Rewarding

Explain why you chose those words.

Each time we run the Customized Program, I find a new part of the city and/or food to explore which makes Barcelona intriguing. It is rewarding because Barcelona SAE is so professional and organized in what they do so well!

What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?

I always enjoy our hike and the Calcotada. And, the olive oil tasting!!!

What is you favorite place in Catalunya? Why?

Right now I am intrigued with la ruta de Emporada Costa Brava. It is a beautiful hike along the Costa Brava.

Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?

All the markets and to take a cooking class as I know that is not usually part of a semester program.

If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?

I would wake up and have a coffee and a small piece of tortilla, then I would walk to a museum or to the beach. I would then go to a market to buy food for both lunch and dinner and be sure to have an empanada snack at the market. Next is using the ingredients from the market to make any traditional Catalan dish to enjoy with a bottle of Cava. Afterwards more walking around the city to finish with a stop for tapas and wine or vermut before a late dinner.

What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?

Be sure to be out in the streets exploring and walking the city.

What do you think makes Barcelona unique?

Its unique architecture and the history that goes with it.
