What are you up to these days? Have you graduated? Are you working? How did your experience in Barcelona have an impact on your life?
My favorite thing was definitely traveling to new countries and cities on the weekends and always being so excited to go back “home” to Barcelona on Sundays.
What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?
My favorite day trip was to Costa Brava, Spain. I liked it because I went snorkeling, kayaking, and cliff jumping with some of my best friends from the program. It was amazing how much the landscape can change without traveling that far – it was like a tropical paradise!
What was your housing experience like? Did you live in an apartment with other students? A homestay with a local family? A residence hall on your Barcelona campus?
I lived in a four person apartment. It had two bedrooms and I shared a room with my friend from my home university. My building had Americans from all different states and it was really fun getting to know other students who were feeling all the same feelings as me from study abroad. Everyone who lived in my apartment was either doing an internship or going to one of the four main universities in Barcelona.
If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?
I would definitely spend my day tanning and swimming at Barceloneta beach, followed by a picnic dinner while watching the sunset over the city from the Bunkers.
Why was Barcelona SAE the right program for you?
Barcelona SAE was the perfect program for me because they were extremely helpful in getting me adjusted to my new life abroad. They gave me an entire guide to living there but they also let me explore and live on my own. They provided the perfect amount of support while still allowing me to be independent.
