Venir a Barcelona ha sido una de las mejores ideas que me he planteado. Solo en este primer mes, he tenido increíbles oportunidades de ver el mundo y sumergirme tanto en la cultura española como en el gran ambiente multicultural que se encuentra en este.
Coming to Barcelona has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. In just this month alone, I’ve been given so many amazing opportunities to see the world and immerse myself in not only Spanish culture but also the incredible multi-cultural environment found here as well.
Actualmente estoy realizando prácticas de marketing en una empresa local de Barcelona. Durante mi primer mes me ha generado muchas emociones y nervios porque el ámbito de marketing era algo nuevo para mi y constantemente me cuestionaba mucho porque no sabía si podría lograr mis objetivos y sentirme asequible con mis compañeros de trabajo.
I’m currently doing a marketing internship in a local company in Barcelona. During my first month, I’ve been quite nervous because marketing is something new for me and I’ve been doubting myself on whether or not I’ll be able to achieve my goals and adequately support my colleagues.
Pero por suerte, Barcelona SAE me ha dado un espacio conforme y seguro para hacer mi pasantía con tiempos flexibles para asistir a actividades o tours extracurriculares (mis favoritos hasta el día de hoy han sido los tours del barrio gótico y del poble sec). También me ha brindado un equipo de trabajo que ejecuta responsabilidad social corporativa y que le da importancia al impacto social, económico, y medioambiental.
But luckily, Barcelona SAE has given me a comfortable and safe place to complete my internship with flexible hours so that I can also attend cultural activities and excursions (my favorites so far have been the tours of the Gothic Quarter and the Poble Sec neighborhoods). They’ve also paired me up with an internship company that exercises social, economic, and environmental corporate responsibility.
A parte de las prácticas, este mes también he tenido la oportunidad de ir a conocer diferentes lugares como: la Sagrada Familia, el Museo Nacional d’art de Catalunya, el Arco de Triunfo, Castelldefels, Sitges y Plaça Nova. Realmente siempre me han gustado los lugares con historia y de hecho, disfruto ir a los museos. Creo que son mi parte favorita durante mis viajes porque aprendo mucho con base en sus historias.
Apart from my internship, this month I’ve also had the chance to explore different places like the Sagrada Familia, the National Art Museum of Catalunya, the Arc de Triomf, Castelldefels, Sitges, and the Plaza Nova. I’ve always loved places with history, and in fact, I truly enjoy going to museums. I think they’re my favorite part of my travels because I learn so much from their history.
En mis primeros días en Barcelona se me dificultó un poco adaptarme pero pude acoplarme rápidamente a todos los cambios y a los choques culturales ya que después de un tiempo, todas estas cosas nuevas se han convertido en mi nueva rutina y ahora forman parte de mi día a día.
During my first few days in Barcelona, it was difficult for me to adapt to all the changes and the culture shocks, but after a while, all of these things became part of my new routine and now they form part of my day to day life here.
Finalmente, siempre he sido una chica muy tímida y nerviosa cuando se trata de nuevos retos, culturas, amigos, estudios y trabajo pero puedo decir que gracias al personal de Barcelona SAE, me han hecho sentir segura ya que es un programa que siempre está pendiente de sus estudiantes. Siempre buscan oportunidades de mejoras en las experiencias que crean para sus alumnos y en base a eso logran un buen prestigio. Personalmente, estoy muy emocionada por los meses que me quedan en Barcelona para seguir aprendiendo y viviendo experiencias nuevas.
I’ve always been very shy and nervous when it comes to facing new things, cultures, people, studies, or work, but I can gladly say that Barcelona SAE has made me feel so comfortable because they’re always so helpful to their students. They always look for ways to improve the experiences that they create for their students. Personally, I’m really excited to continue learning and living new experiences during the rest of the months that I will be in Barcelona.
