Barcelona SAE is proud to announce that our organization continues to be recognized as a field-wide leader in inclusive excellence in international education; receiving both a prestigious Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion in International Education Award (EDIIE) from Diversity Abroad, and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in International Education Award from NAFSA Region VII.
Diversity Abroad - Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion in International Education Award
At Diversity Abroad’s recent Global Inclusion Conference in Washington, D.C., Barcelona SAE was awarded an EDIIE for outstanding work in student engagement and support. In particular, the Barcelona SAE Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Consortium Program – which is preparing to welcome its third cohort of HBCU undergraduate students to Barcelona next summer – was recognized as an inclusive and innovative education abroad program model.
“Barcelona SAE is very privileged to work with institutions that produce such voracious learners, and we are honored that our HBCU partners entrust us with their students. Our HBCU partners embody creativity, strength, and determination in their efforts to internationalize their campuses, and we are thrilled that they allow us to be part of that process!” – Keyana Pugh (she/her/hers), University Relations and Assistant TODOS Coordinator
NAFSA Region VII - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in International Education Award
At NAFSA Region VII’s recent annual conference in Jacksonville, FL, Barcelona SAE was awarded the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in International Education Award. This award recognizes international educators who work to foster inclusive practices, promote diversity, or advance equitable systems within their organizations.
“As a North Carolinian, being recognized for our TODOS commitment in my ‘home region’ is incredibly special. Receiving these types of honors affirms the ongoing, systemic work our entire equipo - in both Catalonia and the US - have been doing to widen access to our programs for more students and to bolster inclusion and belonging.” - Kyle Keith (he/him/his), Director of TODOS.
