When traveling, each person has different preferences for the places they want to visit. For example, my brother, a big sports fan, enjoys visiting stadiums. On the other hand, my mom loves going to local stores. As for me, the most enjoyable activity is finding new places to try local food. I love exploring local restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. Not only do they represent a significant part of the local culture, but I also have a deep appreciation for food! Today, I will share some recommendations for great places to eat while in Barcelona. I won’t keep you waiting. Let me share my favorite place right away: Tartela! This charming coffee shop offers the perfect combination of great food and affordable prices. Located near Plaza Espana, Tartela is an excellent choice for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or an afternoon coffee. They serve a variety of sandwiches, salads, desserts, bagels, and delightful smoothies. Every meal is generously portioned, and the prices are reasonable compared to other
establishments.
Calling all chocolate lovers! Chök is the place for you. It may not be the ideal spot for sitting and enjoying coffee, but it’s perfect for those moments when you’re in a rush to class or your internship but craving a sweet treat. Whenever you need a cookie, cupcake, or a simple indulgence of chocolate, Chök is the go-to place!
Attention, Boba enthusiasts! I stumbled upon Zen Zoo through my Spanish friend who lives in Barcelona. After a class, I was longing for something refreshing, so she took me to this gem located in the Gothic Quarter, very close to Plaza Catalunya. Despite its touristy surroundings, the Boba tea at Zen Zoo was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend it!
Prepare yourself for the ultimate cinnamon roll experience. Demasié is a paradise for those who, like me, have a sweet tooth. They offer a delectable selection of cookies, cupcakes, and mouth watering cinnamon rolls. Surprisingly, they also serve pizza for some reason. Seriously, when you visit, don’t miss their Kinder Bueno option (and remember to ask them to warm it up). You won’t be disappointed!
While in Barcelona, I was missing my açai fix. Although there are numerous options available, including Ben and Jerry’s, I highly recommend checking out Almalibre. While they do offer other choices, their açai bowl steals the show. If you ask for my recommendation, go for the Brazilian Capoeira Açai Bowl—it’s truly life-changing!
