Friday was GREAT! We had a wonderful orientation with Rich and Elena from Barcelona SAE and we also had a great lunch. It was great getting to see everyone again and seeing how everyone’s first week was going. It’s very comforting to know the advisors care about our experience here in Spain and are here to help whenever we need them. We went to a Mediterranean restaurant near the BIC Office and I had my first cortado and it was amazing. That will definitely become something I get on a regular basis for the rest of my time here in Spain.

Sunday night we visited the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. On the way there we saw the old Bullfighting Arena (that’s now a mall) and Les Quarte Columnes (the Four Columns) that symbolize the four red stripes of the Catalan senyera. I recently found out they were rebuilt in 2010 in their present location (behind the magic fountain) during Primo de Rivera’s dictatorship when all Catalan symbols were removed in 1929. The Magic Fountain is indeed magical! The first song played was “The Circle of Life” which is on the soundtrack for one of my favorite movies, The Lion King! It was amazing. We stayed at the fountain for roughly 2 hours and watched the different shows each complemented by a different set of songs. t is way better than the show in Vegas if you’re wondering, and is a must see whenever you visit Barcelona.

Bottom line – the Magic Fountain is WAY better than the show in Vegas if you’re wondering, and is a must see whenever you visit Barcelona.
