Cooking Class - Barcelona SAE Blog

Today we attended a cooking class at a place called “Cook & Taste,” about a block or 2 from the Jaume I metro station. It reminded me so much of the cooking shows that come on the Food Network at home.

My roommate at I helped prepare the tortilla de patas, and I’m a pro might I add. Peeling the potatoes may have been the hardest part but they all ended up very nice and the group loved them. The other things we had were: chupito de sopa tomate, pan con tomate, paella (with chicken), and for dessert crema catalan. Everything was DELISH.

So for each item on the menu, our cooking instructor would ask for 3 or 4 people to help her and explain to them what to do and send them on their cooking way. It was really funny watching everyone cook…especially people who said they never made a full course meal before.

By the time everything was finished, we were all so “hangry” (a new word I learned, meaning you’re so hungry that your stomach is angry!) I’m not sure if there is a Spanish or Catalan equivalent for this word, but if not, there needs to be!

The cooking class was a really great idea, so thank you so much to Barcelona SAE for arranging it…and also receiving the 20 euros back for reserving your spot was a plus. 😉
