Laia Burgell

Director of Student Life

Currently based in Barcelona, Laia (she/her/hers) has been working in study abroad for more than 11 years, specializing in Student Life (Health & Safety, Housing and Activities). Laia is originally from Tarragona (south of Barcelona), but has lived in Barcelona for over 20 years. Laia has loved languages and culture since she was a child, and she has a B.A. in Translation and Interpretation from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). She did an Erasmus exchange in France at the Université de Haute Alsace (UHA), and later pursued her studies in International Commerce and more recently in Human Resources and Project Management. Laia is also passionate about social justice and she has volunteered abroad as well as in Barcelona with different international organizations. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and hosting family and friends at home.
